So, the last 4 days have been affectionately known to all Dallasites as "Icemageddon". We've all pretty much been shut in our homes since Thursday night, so it's nice to get out and back to work today! I can't even tell y'all what I did these last 4 days...certainly nothing productive. I'm pretty sure we just cozied up on the couch, and I drank my weight in hot chocolate, apple cider and lattes. Thanks, Keurig.
School was canceled so I stayed home with Molly. It was such a lovely day! We started out by cuddling (yes, she cuddled with me for 15 minutes) while we watched The Polar Express. Um, how had I never seen this movie before? I loved it!!!
Ryan had to go into work for a little bit, but before he left, he took Molly outside to see the snow (ice). She loved it!
While Ryan was at work, Molly opened up a new book to read...We had a good little day together.
Later that afternoon, Ryan came home, and we went on a family walk. It was soooo cold but a lot of fun (and nice to get out of the house for a bit). We just walked around the block but it took considerably longer than it usually does, for obvious reasons :)
My mom's power went out at 2am on Friday, and when it looked like it wouldn't be coming on any time soon, we decided to pick her up and bring her home to stay with us for a while! It was sooooo nice to spend some real quality time with her, and I know Molly (and Scout) loved having her around. She stayed 2 nights, and we had such a great time together!
Molly & Grammy read lots of books and watched lots of Minnie Mouse together. Such a good grandma! :)
We all woke up at different times (thankfully Mom woke up with Molly and hung out with her for a bit so we could sleep)...
Then I made pancakes for everyone.
The rest of the day was spent napping, reading and watching tv. We were pretty much lazy bums for the whole day which was fine...because there really wasn't anything else to do!
We ended the day by watching BAYLOR WIN THE BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!! And then we played a game of Chicken Foot. Fun night :)
In the middle of the night, Molly started crying so I went in her room, and she threw up all over her crib, herself and me. Ahhhhhh cue the panic! I'm so glad my mom was there because she and Ryan tag-teamed the crib and laundry while I stood with Molly as she puked, and then I gave her a bath. Molly of course would not fall asleep until her Lambies were out of the dryer, so she laid on me in her recliner for an hour. Gotta love waiting for laundry to dry at 1:30 in the morning. Yawn. A very eventful night! Thankfully that was the only time Molly threw up, and she was pretty much fine after that.
The next morning was another lazy one.
Molly hung out with Ryan in bed while Mom and I watched Father of the Bride movies... haha, lazy bums!
Mom's power came back on, so Ryan dropped her off around lunch time that day. We missed her immediately! It was so nice spending so much uninterrupted time with her. Molly woke up from her nap in a CRANKY mood. Pretty sure she still wasn't feeling well.
It was more of the same for me, though...
School was canceled again, so I stayed home with Molly. She was 100% back to normal, which was a relief. We went on a morning walk which was pretty hilarious because we looked like two old ladies just shuffling around the block. Molly fell about 20 times (not exaggerating), and each time she said, "WOAHHH!!!" So dramatic.
My view: Molly falling but refusing to let me carry her. Fun times.
We stayed in all day long and just read and watched cartoons. It was another extremely lazy day which was fine by me. Molly kept asking to play "backetbow" with the "poop" (hoop), but I told her that was pretty impossible...
And that was our 4-day icemageddon adventure of laziness. I'm happy to be back at work today and actually wearing makeup and real clothes :) Christmas is in 15 days, and we're ready!!!
