I don't think I've ever done this on the blog (and I'm too lazy to go check now), but I want to list a few New Years Resolutions, as cliche as they may be, because I need some goals to work toward...
1. Obviously, I want to get back to my pre-baby weight. This means, I need to lose 36 pounds. In addition to the tons of water weight that I lost within about a week after Molly was born, I've lost about 10 pounds on my own after watching what I eat and working out a little. I think losing 36 pounds in a year is VERY doable. If I'm being extra ambitious, I'd love to get back to my pre-wedding weight (an additional 20 pounds), but I had been trying to do that for about 3 years, so we'll just take it one step at a time :)
2. I want to get better about cooking and add a few more recipes to my rotation. I've been told about the Crockin' Girls website, and Pinterest has already given me some good ideas, so the key now is to actually TRY them. I'd really like to make dinner at least 2-3 times a week. This doesn't sound like much to most people, but if you knew how much Ryan and I just get food to-go, you'd understand.
3. This may sound stupid to most of you, but I want to be less rigid on keeping the house perfect. I have a little OCD when it comes to things being out of place, and I turn into kind of a crazy person if I feel the house is "out of control": aka lots of things not in their place. I think (and I'm not a psychologist, so I could be wrong) that I'm a control freak, and the house is one of the few things in my life that I can control, which is why I clean when I'm stressed out or feeling out of control. This tendency results in Ryan not feeling like he can really relax and be comfortable in our home because I'm constantly nagging him to pick up this, or pick up that, or put that away, etc. HELLO...this is our HOME. It SHOULD be a place of comfort and a place to let yourself go and relax, and this nit-picky, clean freak has GOT to get over that, especially since we'll have a little toddler messing everything up soon :)
Okay, I know that's only 3 resolutions, but they're kind of big.... And if I listed 10, it would be way too overwhelming for me! :)
Wish me luck, and have a very Happy New Year! Here's to 2012!

#3 is SO me. My aunt (who does early childhood development) told me it's because when my parents divorced, the only thing I could control in my life was my bedroom. So, I think you're right on the money there! I think I might be "borrowing" this resolution.
