Okay so I think I'm crazy, because I think about baby names on a daily basis. And no, I'm not pregnant. We're not expanding our family any time in the near future...Molly is enough for us to handle right now! :) But, since our family isn't complete yet, I can't help thinking about her future little sibling and what his/her name will be.
I think about the craziest things...
Like, the name has to sound good on a Christmas card. Love, Ryan, Jen, Molly and ____.
It has to sound good when said with Molly. Molly and Holly for instance, would not work.
Probably the most important factor (and the one that keeps conflicting with our favorites) is that is has to sound good with our last name. McCrady.
For instance, we love the name Brady. But.... Brady McCrady???? That's mean.
When Ryan hears this name in his head, he thinks of the star quarterback and the announcer saying "Touchdown for Braaaaady McCraaaaady!!!!!"
I think of the nerdy chess club kid with glasses that gets picked on at recess. I can hear the little kids chanting: "Brady McCrady you look like a lady!"
Yep. We're crazy.
We both LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Kathryn, and then Katie for short. But again, Katie McCrady just won't work.
These are things we talk about regularly. I'll hear someone's name on TV, read it on a blog, etc. and then ask Ryan, "What do you think of _____?" He'll either say "NO" or "eh" or "it could work".
Considering it will be years before we have another, this could be a very LONG conversation between us for a while. It's a good thing we have time! haha
Definitely labeling this post as "random".
